DapperwoodSF is a San Francisco–based woodworking studio creating modern, functional objects rooted in material honesty, restraint, and thoughtful design. Each piece is designed and handcrafted in small batches using premium hardwoods such as walnut, maple, acacia, and redwood.

The work explores contrast as a design language—clean geometry paired with organic grain, precision softened by imperfection, and intentional color choices that allow multiple ideas to exist within the same object. Rather than decoration, these elements are used quietly, letting form, material, and proportion carry meaning.

DapperwoodSF was founded during a period of personal and professional transition by its founder. Before certain truths could be spoken, they were expressed through the work itself—through balance, tension, and contrast. Woodworking became both a practice and a way of understanding, where objects could hold complexity without explanation.

The studio’s collection spans coasters, cutting boards, log candles, lighting, sculptural tabletop pieces, and a small number of statement works. Across all scales, the focus remains the same: creating objects meant to be used daily—functional, grounded, and enduring—while offering moments of warmth, reflection, and quiet expression.

All pieces are designed and built by hand in San Francisco.

Sustainable Sourcing

Our commitment to sustainability drives us to source most of our wood from locally felled trees in the Greater Bay Area. Whether due to age, storms, or urban development, these trees are given a second life through our creations. We either mill, dry, and slab the wood ourselves or collaborate with trusted local sawyers, ensuring we can trace the origin of every piece we craft.​
