DapperwoodSF
is a San Francisco–based woodworking studio founded by Filipino American maker Marco Leon.
After years in tech, I returned to working with my hands — drawn back to material, process, and the quiet clarity that comes from shaping wood. What began as a shift in career became a deeper creative practice rooted in intentionality and sculptural form.
My work blends clean geometry with organic edges, contrast with restraint. I’m inspired by Mid-Century Modern principles — proportion, balance, function — but I reinterpret them through raw material presence and lived experience.
Each piece is:
• Personally designed and built by me
• Made in small batches
• Constructed from locally sourced hardwoods whenever possible
• Finished by hand in my studio
Woodworking, for me, is a way to communicate without always needing to explain. Grain patterns, natural voids, and structural tension become language. Material becomes message.
Whether it’s a coaster set or a statement table, every object is sculptural, functional, and intentionally made.
Meet the Founder
Romeo Marco Leon, the creative force behind DapperwoodSF, has a deep love for woodworking. His path was clear after placing 2nd in the California State Fair's woodworking showcase in junior high school. Romeo is a modern renaissance man. He is not only business savvy and passionate about design, art, playing music, (i.e., guitar, bass, drums, and piano). His vision and skill have made DapperwoodSF a symbol of quality and innovation.
